I TOOK UP photography five years ago, after my dad passed away. He was a keen hobbyist photographer and used a Nikon D90 and D3200. I had no interest at that point, but took on his camera gear to have a connection with him. I regret not trying out photography when he was around – it would have been a great way to bond. After using the DSLRs for a while, I thought they were bulky and clunky. Going mirrorless seemed to offer a lot more. Once I made that decision, I had to choose whether to go full-frame, or stick with APS-C. I went with the latter, because when it comes down to it, I don’t need full-frame. I considered Sony and its A6000 series as an option, but as I was researching I stumbled upon FUJIFILM. I thought about the X-T4 or the X-T3, but then I came across the X-S10, which kind of sits in-between both.

LONDON TOUR BOAT FUJIFILM X-S10, manual exposure, XF16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR at 16mm, 1/60sec at f/10 and ISO 640 I started with an X-S10 and two XC lenses – the 35mm f/2 and 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ. Then moved on to the XF16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR, and that has been my main lens. Although, I also have a Samyang 12mm f/2 and a Viltrox 23mm f/1.8. My new XF10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR has also just arrived. I am excited about testing it, and favour wide-angle shooting, so I might leave the 10mm setting. I live in Dorset and most of my photography is landscape, but I have made several trips to London to challenge myself with urban photography. So far, I have completed four, staying three or four days each time.
