The Orca OR-14 Trolley Video Camera bag might be pricey, but it’s a great solution for carrying and protecting lots of video equipment. It has an integrated trolley system, allowing easy transportation from studio to location without too much stress. Its external aluminium frame, internal honeycomb frame, layers of foam and EVA outer provide ample protection for your precious equipment. Made with high- quality textile materials, this bag can be carried with the shoulder strap or using the trolley. The Orca-14 Trolley Video Camera bag comes with three external pockets, an LED light strip to illuminate the natty blue interior, a heavily padded shoulder strap, heavy-duty wheels and a flexible internal divider system. There are small bungee straps inside to stop your equipment from moving around. A special top tray with a zippered mesh is also included for extra space to store smaller accessories and deliver even more protection for a camera. Orca also offers a range of smaller bags that don’t quite swallow up as much kit.

If you want a rugged, waterproof hard case that’s tough enough for military use but has a touch of Italian style, then check out the Panaro Max range. The Max cases are Panaro’s line of watertight bags designed to offer incredible protection from the elements, including water, dust and impact – this makes them ideal for transporting your filmmaking equipment. The cases are IP67 rated and ATA 300 Category 1 certified for plane transportation. They are also UN4H2 certified to transport lithium-ion batteries as dangerous goods – important when travelling with V-Mount batteries. Designed and made in Italy, the Max520 case is ideal for filmmakers, featuring wheels and an extendable handle. Its internal dimensions are 520x290x200mm. Inside, the case boasts padded foam dividers that can be adjusted to fit your own gear. It also includes a lid organiser with zip closures and a document pouch. Other features include a soft-grip handle, holes for double padlocking, full- length hinges and an automatic pressure relief valve.

Following a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $2.5 million from more than 10,000 backers, the Peak Design Outdoor line is a new range of high-end adventure gear for outdoor filmmakers. Made from recycled materials, the bags are designed around a modular system that allow users to customise bags for any trip. The Outdoor backpacks are available in 45- or 25-litre capacities in three colours. The range incorporates Peak Design’s award-winning Camera Cubes, which offer a padded cradle for mirrorless equipment. There’s an expandable roll top with Peak’s Ultra Cinch closure. Multiple interior and exterior pockets stow all the essentials, and a designated pocket holds your 16in laptop or a three-litre hydration bladder. Meanwhile, the three-part, spring steel interior frame and ventilated, quick- drying back panel offer enhanced support and comfort. For light travel, Peak Design also has the seven-litre Outdoor Sling that fits the X-Small Camera Cube. This provides good protection for carrying a small mirrorless camera with a lens or a small drone.
