TALENT While the contest is open to entries – until 30 May 2025 – every issue of Pro Moviemaker will highlight some of the top entries to widen the exposure of the awards and its entrants. The awards will be judged by a panel of experts; winning won’t be about how many views the work has had, but about the idea and execution. The judges will be looking for originality, creativity and excellence of execution. So choose a category – or categories – from the following pages, submit your project and let the world see the best of your work.
With small businesses under pressure to deliver at tight deadlines, we wanted it to be as easy as possible to enter these awards. The process to enter isn’t lengthy, and you don’t have to make a bespoke showreel or create whole new films. But you can if you want to! We want to see your creativity shine through; this can be content created for a paid-for client, non-paid-for like a charity or sports team, personal projects or anything else you’ve worked on that you are proud of. All you need to do is go to our website promoviemaker.net and follow the links to Filmmaker of the Year. We just need a link where we can watch the video online, such HOW TO ENTER
as on YouTube or Vimeo, plus the password if it’s protected. Or send a link to a file so we can download it from a file-sharing service like WeTransfer. Let us know if we have permission to link to the film on our website or social media, as well as any credits needed. The entry form will ask for the category or categories you want to enter your film into, what your role was and who the client was, if any. It’s also helpful to write a paragraph or two that give context to the shoot, challenges you faced and any success your film has had. If you have any questions, just email adamduckworth@bright-publishing.com with the subject line Filmmaker of the Year!
