This thousand- year-old Nordic tradition has scientifically verified benefits. While hot-water bathing elevates the mood, relieves muscle pain and reduces blood pressure, cold water increases awareness, boosts mental resilience and stimulates the immune system, at the same time as reducing muscle inflammation. When the two types of bathing are combined, you can enjoy a rush of endorphins and improved circulation as the vessels of the body relax, then restrict in response to the rapid changes in temperature.
