f you’re looking to get out of Cambridge for the day, Saffron Walden is a lovely little town that’s well worth a visit. Home to an impressive selection of independent shops and boutiques, it’s a great destination for some retail therapy, and you can be sure to leave with a bag full of one-of-a-kind, locally- made goodies. Highlights include Mini Miss Bread and Hill St. – whose sweet treats alone will make the journey worthwhile. It also boasts a handful of timeless cultural hotspots, where you can delve into some local heritage to break up your browsing. The resplendent Audley End House is bound to impress, or you can pay a visit to Bridge End Garden, tucked away amid the hustle and bustle of the town centre, as well as checking out some of the fantastic events and exhibitions.
