SAVOUR & S I P

GASTRO GLASTO DON’T MISS OUT!

If you’ve been craving the buzz of a big event, check out Foodies Festival, which is promising a ‘gastronomic Glastonbury’ on Parker’s Piece, 23-25 July. Heading the entertainment bill are renowned tribute acts Maybe Gaga, Ultimate Coldplay and Kylie on Show, while menu-wise, you can expect street food, chilli-eating contests, stalls from artisan producers and lots more. Anyone looking to pick up some new skills can check out demos from the likes of Masterchef: The Professionals champ Alex Webb, plus local chefs including Daniel Clifford (Midsummer House) and Tristan Welch (Parker’s Tavern). There’s also the opportunity to taste your way around wines, champagnes and cocktails in the Drinks Theatre, as well as a craft tent, kids zone and much more to enjoy. Adult day tickets start from £19.

Hot &Fresh THREE NEW CAMBRIDGE BITES TO DISCOVER THIS MONTH

ROTISSEROLL A warm welcome to the city’s newest food truck, Rotisseroll, which has been winning an army of fans with its lip-smacking selection of rotisserie dishes. The van has been popping up at venues including The Plough at Great Shelford, and is also part of the Off The Beaten Truck collective. Swing by for taste sensations including slow- roasted porchetta with baby roast potatoes, crispy jackfruit buns and homemade slaw.

AMELIE FONDUE BITES Amélie might be famous for its flammekueche (a rectangular, pizza-like delicacy), but that’s far from the only must-try dish on this eatery’s menu, which has recently received some delicious new additions. Top pick for us are the fondue bites: deep-fried balls of molten gruyère and emmental cheese, served with a swirl of garlic mayo. Pop along to The Grafton Centre and head upstairs to the food court to try for yourself.

COSY CAMP S’MORES Started by a Cambridge mum (who dreamed up the idea while trying to keep her kids entertained in lockdown), Cosy Camp makes adorable s’mores kits, complete with marshmallows, chocolate and biscuits. The branding is super cute and the boxes even come equipped with a tiny, non-toxic burner that can be used inside or out – so you can whip them up, rain or shine. The s’more the merrier!
