Cabal Esports has acquired 126 Alfalite Modularpix Pro VP XR 1.9 LED panels, enhancing its virtual production capabilities for broadcasts and live events, including esports. Cabal Esports recently entered a strategic alliance with Atresmedia to organise international gaming tournaments – events where flexible LED panels will come in handy. The Alfalite LED screen can be assembled and disassembled as required. Cabal has already employed its LEDs to play Unreal Engine-generated content while servicing events hosted by Ubisoft and Santalucía. Alfalite’s LEDs can be filmed from impractical angles thanks to their impressive pixel pitch, brightness and Optical Resin Injection Module (ORIM) technology. ORIM-powered panels also protect against static, heat, liquids, chemicals and other hazards and deteriorate less than those without.

PLAYING IN PARALLEL

BeIn Media Group has partnered with video software provider Synamedia to bring a new sports streaming experience to the MENA region. Synamedia has redesigned BeIn’s UI and UX on its BeIn TV and BeIn TV VIP platforms, giving audiences an opportunity to watch two live matches simultaneously on a single screen. Fans no longer need to choose thanks to this parallel viewing option.

Other BeIn features include actions for pausing and resuming live content, recording up to four programmes at a time, YouTube integration and multilingual support for Arabic, English, French and Spanish. Subscribers can enjoy events such as the Champions League, Premier League and LaLiga, as well as the platform’s comprehensive collection of films and TV series.

LET’S GET DIGITAL The Portuguese Football Federation (Federaçāo Portuguesa de Futebol, FPF) has chosen Pixellot as its partner for Project 2030, the organisation’s long-term digital transformation plan. As such, Pixellot will create an end-to-end solution that

encompasses production, streaming and analysis across five football leagues and the federation’s Lisbon- based training centre. Pixellot’s production suite handles everything from AI-automated video production to tactical analysis, allowing FPF to cover more than 1000 matches per season across Liga 3, Liga Revelaçāo, Liga BPI and Liga Placard. FPF will deliver all content

– including interviews and behind-the-scenes footage – via its OTT platform. Pixellot will provide FPF coaches with analytics, allowing them to maximise game-time performance.

QUALITY CRICKET

Ateme extended its audio-visual experiences to the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), delivering the cricket tournament in 17 languages with Viacom18. This marks the first time that India-based fans have been able to enjoy the sport in UHD. The IPL reached a peak of 31 million simultaneous views during the 2023 season’s final match. That number was achievable thanks to Ateme’s Titan encoders and decoders. These products and services include Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision integration for enhanced audio and colour quality, respectively, preserving realism and elevating the UX.
