Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) is aiming to raise £100,000, which can support patients with cancer by funding innovative equipment, therapies and treatments to lengthen and even save lives. Heated chemotherapy, used for patients with advanced ovarian cancer, is just one example of a new treatment you can fund by donating to the Addenbrooke’s Big Christmas Appeal. Carefully controlled doses of chemotherapy at a precise temperature, administered directly into a patient’s abdomen during surgery, can extend their life to give them precious extra months and years with their loved ones. Addenbrooke’s doesn’t yet have the equipment to provide this treatment, and patients with ovarian cancer often need to travel back and forth to London for their chemotherapy.
