SAVOUR & SIP

A monthly round-up of delicious happenings around Cambridgeshire

The award-winning Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa has announced its new champagne partner – the illustrious Billecart-Salmon champagne house. A brand synonymous with prestige and quality, this tipple of choice is not listed in any other venues around Newmarket. The closest partners that meet with its rigorous standards include two Michelin star Midsummer House and one Michelin star Restaurant 22 in Cambridge. For Bedford Lodge, the partnership signals an esteemed new era of luxury for its guests. “We are excited to introduce Billecart-Salmon champagne as our preferred pouring champagne brand,” says Noel Byrne, CEO of Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa. “Billecart-Salmon’s legacy of quality and the exclusivity of its brand align perfectly with our commitment to providing guests with the very best.” Partners in prestige

SCOTT STRIKES GOLD Known to those in the industry as the Oscars of the pizza world, the PAPA (Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Association) Awards have given Mill Road restaurant Scott’s All Day gold in the independent pizza restaurant category. “Scott’s All Day showcases exactly what we look for in this category: local business serving local customers with local suppliers,” says PAPA director Jim Winship. Scott’s prides itself on sourcing ingredients nearby, with beer from Calverley’s Brewery and pizza toppings sourced from along Mill Road. For Scott Holden himself, the eponymous operational director, founder and chef at Scott’s All Day, the award was a real pinch- me moment. “We are very honoured to be given gold. We’re so grateful that myself and the team’s hard work is paying off.”
