COMING SOON Smith says that, with a staggering one million sq ft of studio space, they will boast the ability to have four significant productions ongoing simultaneously by the end of the year. “We will see employment of about 6000 people at the peak, working indirectly at productions that have been attracted to the studios. That’s a major job generator. It’s also an amazing amount of investment that’s coming into the UK.” Hollywood has been a metonym for the American film industry for over a century, but Smith says that Los Angeles has now morphed into a ‘TV town’, as cost of production in the city has become prohibitively expensive.
