Cameras UNSURPRISINGLY, MIRRORLESS MODELS dominate the nominations in this section, with another year of great product launches adding to an already strong field of contenders. What unites all these shortlisted products is a huge range of creative features, sitting alongside impressive technical innovation. High ISO performance continues to improve, stabilisation gets more powerful and video functionality grows. Almost every nominated camera has video features that allow hybrid creators to seamlessly switch between stills and movie capture. That said, regular PN readers will notice we’ve also included a new category – best video-focused camera – dedicated to models that are primarily designed to shoot video, while also having some stills functionality. Some of the brand names in that category will be familiar, others less so. We’re also recognising the ongoing renaissance in instant film photography with the best instant film camera category. Camera categories are always fiercely contested, so every vote counts!
