Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT) has launched its first-ever radio show to share the inspiring stories behind its work – which, in the last 30 years, has seen more than £150 million invested in improving patient care at Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals. Joining forces with Cambridge Radio, ACT’s Amazing People – which will air on the fourth Sunday of every month – is hosted by Gavin Richards, presenter of the station’s Saturday morning show, and Danni Smith, PR and communications lead at ACT, who will chat to the professionals, caregivers and inspiring fundraisers helping make the Cambridge hospitals such a special place. The first episode, an introduction to the charity, featured fundraiser David Bateson, robotic surgeon Atanu Pal and lead cancer nurse Ingela Oberg. ACT GOES ON AIR!
Duxford-based start-up Conscious Entrepreneurs has been named a finalist in the UK Startup Awards 2025. An impact- driven online membership network founded by Clare Morris in 2024, the business has been nominated for the Startup for Good award in the East of England. “Being shortlisted for this is a huge moment – not just for me, but for our whole community,” said Clare. “Conscious Entrepreneurs was built to support those doing business with care, conscience and courage. We’re proving you don’t have to choose between doing good and doing well. You can build a sustainable, ethical business and still feel deeply supported.” More than 750 businesses have been shortlisted this year. Finalists will be considered for regional prizes by a panel of seasoned judges with experience founding or supporting entrepreneurial ventures. The winners from each region will then be invited to the UK final in September. Cambridgeshire business shortlisted in Startup Awards

Heal Saunas has recently opened a Nordic-inspired sauna and cold plunge at The Warehouse Indoor Skatepark on Coldhams Lane, offering skaters and the wider community a space to unwind, recharge and reconnect. The outdoor-style urban sauna combines traditional sauna culture with a relaxed and creative environment. Visitors can enjoy a wood-fired sauna, cold plunges, a firepit and a botanical garden complete with herbs and plants. There’s also a refreshment station, shower facilities, changing rooms and a peaceful lounge area with sofas, hammocks and art from local creators. The space has been lovingly designed and built by Sam and Molly, the husband-and-wife team behind Heal Saunas (pictured). Sam even hand-built the sauna himself, incorporating quirky upcycled features that give the space a city-meets-nature aesthetic. This addition gives a different dimension to The Warehouse Indoor Skatepark, which has quickly become a beloved community hub since opening in September 2024, and is known for its inclusive programming.
