T his summer, Heritage Live is bringing four knockout open- air concerts to our doorstep at the Audley End Estate near Saffron Walden. Famed for staging festivals at some of England’s most beautiful and culturally significant venues each year, these historic landmarks, stately homes and country estates serve as stunning backdrops to live music extravaganzas. Kicking off the proceedings on 31 July at Audley End this month are The Jacksons, headlining a huge summer celebration of disco favourites alongside special guests Sister Sledge, featuring founding member Debbie Sledge, and Miss Disco, the Saffron Walden seven-piece live disco revue band.

They’re followed by three more days of big-name headliners – and a healthy dose of 90s nostalgia. On 1 August, Roger Daltrey takes to the stage. The Who’s legendary frontman will perform many of the band’s hits and delve into a solo catalogue that dates back nearly 50 years – as well as welcoming special guests Ocean Colour Scene and Cast. Manic Street Preachers follow next on 2 August, joined by fellow indie royalty The Charlatans and Ash, with an exclusive DJ set by Chris Moyles, before the focus turns to the UK’s electronic music scene. Underworld will perform two exclusive sets on 3 August alongside special guests including Simian Mobile Disco, Groove Armada, Hot Chip and Fish56Octagon.
