The Xperia Pro-I smartphone packs in the compact RX100 camera’s massive sensor

S ony might be the biggest Apple’s iPhone dominates the market. But the second in the line of Sony Xperia Pro smartphones is designed to tempt professional image makers over to the brand – and is far more affordable than the £2299/$2498 Xperia Pro we tested last summer. That phone is designed to mimic the look and feel of a Sony Alpha camera, but the real benefit is that you can connect it to a Sony camera - or any other mirrorless - with a micro HDMI cable. This makes it a light and compact monitor that lasts for hours, due to the phone’s battery technology. Think of it as a decent smartphone you could use as a little 6.5in monitor. But the new Xperia Pro-I goes a different route.
