It is a 17:9 aspect ratio panel, with a native 4096x2160 resolution for displaying cinema 4K footage. There is 99% AdobeRGB coverage and 98%DCI-P3, as well as preset modes for all common video colour space standards.
The Eizo can display HDR footage, as it is compatible with the HLG standard. Its maximum 350-nit brightness means it’s not a true HDR monitor, though. More affordable from Eizo is the 27in ColorEdge CS2740 at £1388/$1709, which is a 16:9, 4K IPS, 350-nit screen. It offers UHD 4K resolution, a 26.9in diagonal viewing area and USB Type-C connectivity, which works with Thunderbolt. An external calibration sensor is available, as is a hood. If money is tight, then look at these more affordable displays from AOC, which come with USB-C for single-cable connection. The 32in AOC U32P2CA has native 4K resolution, with 350-nit brightness covering 119% sRGB, 97.3% AdobeRGB and 90.7%DCI-P3 colour. Edit multi-stream 8K footage at full frame rate and transfer up to 1TB of data in around seven minutes or less. LaCie’s new Rugged SSDs bring the legendary orange drives up to date, as they now have faster and safer SSDs inside. There’s also a new all-black look for the Pro model. The Pro version comes in both 1TB and 2TB versions and is a Thunderbolt 3 portable drive offering super-rapid USB 3.1 compatibility – quick enough for 8K editing thanks to 2800MB/s speeds.
