Monitors The Mac Studio has an HDMI
socket, but by far the best way to connect external monitors is via the Thunderbolt 4 or 3, which is what most monitors have. There are four Thunderbolt 4 slots on the rear of the Mac Studio Ultra and two more on the front. The lesser-spec (but half-price) Mac Studio Max has the slower USB-C sockets on the front. The most simple and stylish option is to splash out £1499/$1599 on the Apple Studio Display. If you want the nano-texture, anti-glare glass, it costs £1749/$1849, while adding a height-adjustable stand takes the price to a whopping £2149/$2299. Ouch. But its slim, metal and glass construction is very high-end, and it has three USB-C ports that deliver speeds up to 10Gbps to connect high-speed peripherals.
