hat is the company’s origin story? Upit was born from a simple, but radical idea that game creation shouldn’t be reserved for coders or studios; it should be open to everyone. Founded by Chris Benjaminsen, whose CV includes Yahoo Games, Player.io and the team behind leading web gaming platform FRVR, Upit is the product of both high-level industry experience and gamer instinct. From day one, the mission was to dissolve barriers in the industry, breaking down the divide between player and creator and asking big questions, like what could people create if they didn’t have to learn complex coding languages and could create based on thought? Upit isn’t just a platform; it upends long-held ways of working and socialising. It represents a democratisation of the landscape, where a teenager with a phone can build games and share them with the same audience as a veteran designer. This is about flipping the script on gaming, turning it from something that players simply consume into something they can shape themselves. What is it working on now? Upit is deep in build mode, with the team scaling fast and refining the platform. On the development side, there has been a focus on updates to boost performance and responsiveness, including updates to Ava, Upit’s in- house AI assistant. Design capabilities, including prompt- based image restyling, have also been a priority. Another driver for the team has been enhancing the W
community capabilities of Upit, with social messaging now live across the platform, letting users collaborate, give feedback and stay connected, because creating is always better with a community. The aim is for creation to feel frictionless, letting users spend more time building and less time What are the next steps? At the moment the platform is in beta, but it’s already buzzing with over 40,000 creators, as well as a full global launch planned for 2026. Every move Upit makes is shaped by feedback from the community, and it’s evolving with its users, not just for them. The ultimate goal is to make game making as mainstream as meme making. What one thing does the company need most? Heading towards Upit’s global launch, the most important thing right now is to continue to expand Upit’s user base with more makers, more unique ideas and more struggling with bug fixes and complex coding language. people who want to build games, not just play them. Additionally, Upit is currently seeking investors who share its vision of creating a community- driven, user-generated games creation platform. Upit isn’t chasing AAA polish, it’s made to help people build the stuff that only they can create. Whatever the vibe and the game, this is the place for users to build it. The future of gaming isn’t being decided in studios any more; it’s waiting to be created in bedrooms, basements and browser tabs around the world.
