T he entries have flooded in, the judges have watched every single film and debated until the early hours, and now it’s time to reveal the winners of the Pro Moviemaker Filmmaker of the Year Awards. And what a stellar set of entrants we’ve had, as filmmakers recognise the goal of the awards is not to honour big-budget TV and film productions, but shine the spotlight on commercial and emerging creative filmmakers, directors, editors, colourists and sound designers. These are the real heroes of commercial, indie filmmaking who consistently create original and innovative content with low budgets and small crews. Documentaries, promotional films, marketing material, music videos, event coverage, sports, weddings, social media and YouTube work that collectively forms the backbone of the industry worldwide.
Meet the talented winners of the Pro Moviemaker Filmmaker of the Year Awards 2024
single overall winner as the official Pro Moviemaker Filmmaker of the Year. We can now reveal this person as Jonny Lewis, a Briton who juggles his work as an editor for the USA’s biggest rugby TV channel with his commissioned work, which is what won him the title. He makes films for a local art gallery with its own YouTube channel to promote a range of international artists it represents. Already a Royal Television Society Award winner, Lewis was the victor in one of our flagships, the commercial and corporate category. So without further ado, let’s look at the winners of all individual categories, starting with our overall champion.
Some entrants are experienced imaging professionals, others are young filmmakers making their initial steps into the professional world – but what’s certain is that all the winners truly shine. The awards were judged by a panel of experts who had the task of deciding the winners in all categories. From these chosen few, we have also decided upon a
