Battery power for Nanlite LEDs
The FC-60B and FC-120B bicolour spotlights from Nanlite are palm-sized fixtures that can be powered on location by V-Mount batteries or USB-PD via power bank or mains adapter. The FC-60B can also use NP-F type batteries. Both have full app control and are adjustable in colour temperature from 2700 to 6500K. They also pack a punch, with an output of 12,510 lux at 1m for the FC-60B and 17,450 lux at 1m for the FC-120B when fitted with a 45° reflector and set to 5600K. With optional fresnel lens, plus a full range of softboxes and projection attachments, they are strong enough for various deployments. The FC-60B and FC-120B have the same look as the recent Nanlite FC-300B and FC- 500B. Power is rated at 78W for the former and 145W for the latter, and USB-PD mobile power banks or chargers are needed to aid a continuous power output of 30W or higher. There’s a new V-Mount grip for handheld operation and a dedicated power bank grip will be available soon. The lights offer an average CRI of 96 and TLCI of 98, ideal for accurate skin tones. Two output modes are built in. Maximum Output ensures the best possible light for the chosen colour temperature, while Constant Output guarantees consistent brightness across the entire CCT range. Two knobs and two buttons on the lamp head control the lights. The FC-60B has a 1.47-inch display, while the FC-120B’s is 1.9 inches; these show the main settings. There’s an integrated tilting bracket; plus the lights have an FM mount and an umbrella mount and come with a full-size Bowens adapter. The $159 FC-60B weighs only 700g and the $249 FC-120B 980g; no UK prices have yet been set. They come with carrying cases and can be controlled via the built-in Bluetooth and 2.4GHz to connect to the free Nanlink app – or adapted to DMX. An adjustable cooling system ensures they run quietly, and includes four manual or automatic fan modes. nanlite.com
