ARRI ALEXA MINI BASED ON:
On the set of It Chapter Two , the first unit was equipped with four Arri Alexas, of which two were SXT. In addition, kit included two Alexa Minis, which came in useful for handheld shots and getting into smaller spaces. The new film is set 27 years on, with some scenes taking part in the time period of the original – so DOP Checco Varese was faced with the challenge of drawing a visual contrast between the two. He achieved this partly through lens choice, using MiniHawk lenses for the past, while for the present he used Leica or Leitz Summicrons. “The whole premise was that we should believe we are watching something shot in conjunction with the first movie,” he explains. “But, 27 years later, we could introduce a new look – it was a free-for-all... When we flash forward or back to the contemporary part, it is a totally different feeling and technique.” It Chapter Two was shot on Arri Alexas and Alexa Minis, with lens choice creating contrast between scenes from past and present DRAMA
