JUST LAUNCHED! Chestnut afternoon tea Grantchester gastropub The Rupert Brooke has added another string to its bow with the launch of a sumptuous afternoon tea – inspired by the village’s famous meadows, wildflowers and literary connections. Featuring a gorgeous array of sweet and savoury treats, freshly made by the pub’s chefs, it’s available Wednesday to Saturday between 3pm and 5pm. On the menu, find finger sandwiches, sausage rolls, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam, raspberry and rose éclairs, lemon thyme macarons, dark chocolate tarts and mini carrot cakes with lavender shortbread. Add tea and coffee (£22 total), or a glass of Saffron Grange fizz for £32.

SWEET SPOT Node x Barbarella pop-up This June, Chesterton cafe Barbarella will join forces with local non-alcoholic drinks makers Node to create The Babs Bar, a very special month-long pop-up. Head along for sweet treats with innovative non-alcoholic drinks, Thursdays to Saturdays, 5-8pm. Expect an amazing array of divine desserts and Node’s own tipples, including red, white and rosé wine alternatives, plus cocktails.

SUMMER INDIAN STREET FOOD CARNIVAL Namaste Village on Castle Street will host a foodie extravaganza this month, offering a chance to taste your way around the culinary traditions of different regions in India. From Mumbai’s pav bhaji to Delhi’s panipuri, right the way through to a selection of Bengalese desserts, there will be plenty to tempt. You can also enjoy dance, music, henna and more, 11am to 7.45pm, 11 June.
