BRIGHTER, LIGHTER, BETTER: NANDO 502 Ayrton has released its newly upgraded Nando 502 Wash, the latest in its Multi Sources IP65 6 series, which was launched last year. The brand specialises in developing LED light products for applications in both entertainment and architecture, and the new release is an evolution of Ayrton’s Nandobeam range. Nando 502 Wash’s new minimalist design ensures full accessibility to all functions. By decreasing the thickness of its aluminium parts, optimising the cooling system, simplifying lens guidance and integrating low-density optical elements, Ayrton has reduced the overall weight by 20%.
VENICE ART EXPERIENCE
Founded in 2017 by composer and director Francesco Sacco, along with Samira Cogliandro and Giada Vailati, Cult of Magic is an interdisciplinary artistic collective from Milan in Italy. Specialising in creating immersive performances that blend contemporary dance, music and performance art into unique, captivating experiences; it is known for its innovative approach to exploring profound themes. It also often collaborates with prestigious European cultural institutions. Cult of Magic’s recent project, Fear of the Dark (first study), was performed with an immersive light and sound design, aiming to heighten and enrich guests’ other senses during the show, which took place inside a former church in Venice. To elevate the musical aspect, the artists relied on KRK Go Aux Portable Studio Monitors to ensure every note and rhythm resonated beautifully.
RISE EXPANDS INTO AV Rise, an award-winning advocacy group for gender diversity in media technology, has announced Rise AV, which will build on the work of Rise Women in Broadcast (WIB) established in 2017. A DECADE OF CAPTIVATING CROWDS
Ben Howard’s tenth anniversary tour for his 2014 UK number one album I Forget Where We Were visited venues across Europe using Eighth Day Sound Systems’ audio services, looked after by account executive Stuart Wright. Celebrating the English songwriter’s career a decade on, tour manager Martijn de Jong explained the distinctive nature of Howard’s music: “He’s a unique musician with a wide range of records and songs that all have a distinct, recognisable sound. No two records are the same – and neither are his tours. He knows what he wants and strives to get there with the sound, look, feel and overall live experience. Ben and his band are inspirational to work with.” For FOH, the crew opted for an L-Acoustics K1/K2 combination, and an Allen & Heath S7000 console with a DX32 Prime rack for local I/O and a DM64 stage rack with a 32-way Prime preamp rack for additional I/O. Monitor engineer Sander Van Laere chose a Digico Quantum 5. He states: “It was great working with Eighth Day; every package, anywhere in the world, was built to my specification. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m especially thankful for the fantastic techs that joined us – every person was outstanding.”
