perfectly on the X-T4 and X-H1 mirrorless cameras. Perhaps the most useful is the MKX18-55mm T2.9, as it covers such a wide range of shots and is the equivalent of 27-84mm on a full-frame camera. It is a proper cinema zoom, with a constant T2.9 aperture across the range, and very little focus breathing and optical shift as it is utilised. The lens has three rings to enable manual and independent

Fujifilm’s cinema zoom duo has been hugely popular with filmmakers, who largely use them on Sony E-mount cinema cameras with Super 35 sensors, such as the FS5 and FS7 ranges. But, as the lenses are for Super 35 only, they are of limited use on full-frame mirrorless, unless you set them to crop sensor mode. However, the MKX-branded lenses are available in Fujifilm X Mount to work

For £599/$949, the Tokina Firin 20mm f/2 FE AF lens is a small and versatile autofocus prime for Sony E-mount full-frame cameras that performs incredibly well. It weighs just 464g/1.02lb and is very portable at 73.4x81.5mm/2.89x3.21in, yet still has a very high-quality, sophisticated optical design necessary for high-resolving cameras. Where it does excel is optical quality, thanks to its use of two aspherical and three super-low dispersion elements, which cut down all types of distortion, along with offering high resolving power. The colours are very natural and the images show good contrast, without being too extreme. The images are sharp, with the centre area best of all, and some degradation of detail at the frame edges, as you would expect on a wide lens. But it’s this wide focal length, great performance and small size that makes it ideal for use on a motorised gimbal, where every bit of weight saved can be crucial. The only real let-down with the lens is that there is no weather sealing, but if you are using it on a gimbal, then you’re hardly going to be taking it outdoors in a deluge anyway. tokinalens.com 10.
