dual BP slots as a method for mounting and power connection, and tend to sit more flush with the Komodo for a fairly compact option. Wooden Camera’s adapter uses an adjustable arm that mounts via one of the BP slots, then plugs into the camera’s DC port. Be aware that not every solution is able to communicate battery percentage and runtime back to the Komodo, so if this is important to you, it’s worth looking at an adapter that can provide battery capacity info, such as the one fromCore SWX. Lens choice Sitting in front of the Komodo’s 6K Super 35 sensor is Canon’s new RFmount. This was designed for Canon’s latest generation of mirrorless cameras and has a very short flange distance of just 20mm, compared to the longer 44mmof EF and 52mmof PL. Not only does this allow for the design of smaller, fast lenses with improved optics, it also gives the option tomount a vast range of glass by adapting various mounts. There are some great native RF lenses available, and with the Komodo now supporting communication from the control ring on Canon’s RF lenses, they make for an evenmore compelling option. If you are looking to use EF or PL glass, then it is easy enough to do so with the range of adapters available from the likes of Kippertie, Canon, Metabones, Wooden Camera or Vocas. There is even the option to get adapters with in-built NDs, which Canon and Kippertie offer.

Monitoring While the Komodo does feature a small touchscreen at the top of the camera, it’s too small to actually monitor your image, and therefore a small on-camera monitor might be a worthwhile addition to your rig. Monitor size will be down to personal preference, but there is a range of five- and seven-inch options available with bright displays and various monitoring tools. If you want the ability to control your camera through the monitor, then your best option currently is the Portkeys BM5 MK III WR, a 5.5inmonitor that can wirelessly connect to your Komodo for camera control. To monitor wirelessly, there are some neat and compact solutions, such as Accsoon’s
