C areer paths are rarely Eccles – now a successful freelance videographer – knows this all too well. Nearly five years since founding his company, Keefikus Entertainment, he’s met with prime ministers, been onstage with Snoop Dogg and had the most- watched fitness doc on Amazon Prime. Eccles calls himself self-taught, having never received formal training. “Within videography, you have to know all the roles: filmmaking, lighting, sound, collaborating, editing. You learn nothing like that in college,” he begins. After stumbling across fitness videos on straightforward, and progress isn’t linear, so they say. Keith YouTube, Eccles bought a camera and started vlogging. “Things just took off from there,” he explains.
a freelance career. “I started my own company, and I’ve never looked back. Did I think I would be in this position within five years? No,” Eccles admits. “I have a studio, I’m sponsored by my favourite brands and I’ve worked with amazing clients.” But things weren’t always so simple. “I was coming up to my 30th birthday – I freaked out,” Eccles recalls. “My partner said: ‘Go full time. I know you can do it.’ Within the first two weeks of starting the business, I ended up working for Speedo.” Eccles immediately got stuck in. His documentary, From Fat Lolli to 6 Pack Lolli: The Ultimate Transformation Story , won several awards in his first year of business and became Amazon Prime’s most-watched fitness documentary of 2020. Shot entirely by Eccles in New York, the documentary follows Anthony Lolli’s impressive physical journey. “Realistically, it was just me with a Sony A7 III,” explains Eccles. “Ever since, that’s been my staple.” Eccles’ early work launched his career, and he’s been reaping the rewards.
