NEW FROM IDX I DX introduced its new CinePower range at IBC 2023, featuring 28v B-Mount batteries and charger. Aimed at customers who are seeking IDX’s famed quality in a B-Mount form, these units have been designed for ARRI cameras using the B-Mount, as well as lights and various other products that utilise this form factor. HV-160B offers a number of outputs for B-Mount, USB-PD, USB-A and D-Tap, with a capacity of 153W, while HV-320B provides a number of outputs for the same formats, with a capacity of 275Wh. The BL-4SX is a four-channel simultaneous quick charger, developed to charge the IDX CinePower range of batteries. This has clear LCD displays and LED indicators to help the operator identify the current charge state of their batteries. The anticipated release date is Q4 this year. Also fresh from IDX is the Imicro- PD battery range, which provides compactness without sacrificing features. The new Imicro-50P model boasts an extremely compact and lightweight design, making it ideal for applications like directors’ monitors. All three models feature a USB-C PD socket for versatile voltage output and USB-C charging compatibility. Additionally, they include a conventional D-Tap output. These batteries maintain digital data for accurate capacity readings, with compatibility modes for various broadcast cameras and equipment. LED indicators offer guidance on battery status even when off equipment, and the V-Torch assists in low-light situations. All Imicro-PD batteries come with a two- year warranty.
ADOBE SUITE UPDATES
A dobe is rolling out some exciting updates for Premiere Pro, After Effects and Frame.io. In Premiere Pro (beta), AI-powered features include Enhance Speech, augmenting audio quality with background noise removal, and Audio Category Tagging. Text-Based Editing now detects and removes filler words. Performance improvements make editing faster and colour enhancements provide greater control. Plus, new project templates and workflow enhancements streamline editing. After Effects introduces a true 3D workspace, integrating 3D models and image-based lighting. AI-Powered Roto Brush simplifies complex object isolation. Frame.io brings Storage Connect for cost-effective asset management and the Comparison Viewer for reviewing various assets side by side. NEW ATOMOS NINJA SERIES
A tomos has unveiled the latest iterations of its popular Ninja series of camera-mounted monitor-recorders: Ninja and Ninja Ultra. The original 2010 Ninja revolutionised the industry by combining an HD disk recorder with a handheld touchscreen monitor. The newest model boasts a five-inch HDR screen, records ProRes Raw, supports video sources with nine times the resolution, and connects to nearly every camera. Both feature a revamped operating system, AtomOS 11, offering enhanced performance and new features like EL Zone exposure-referenced colourised images and ARRI false colour. The Ninja Ultra is built to get the most out of camera-to-cloud technology, catering to cinematic workflows and recording
ProRes Raw up to 4K/60p and H.265. It supports automatic matching filenames, timecode and record from ARRI, Canon and RED cameras. Both are backwards- compatible with their predecessors and offer expandability options.
