BLACKMAGIC CINEMA CAMERA 6K B lackmagic Design has unveiled its Cinema Camera 6K: a high-end digital film camera equipped with a full-frame 6K sensor, boasting 13 stops of dynamic range, an L-Mount lens mount, and dual native ISO capabilities, reaching up to 25,600 for exceptional low-light performance. A standout feature is the 24x36mm 6K sensor, enabling filmmakers to capture large format, cinema-quality images without compromising on portability. The camera supports L-Mount lenses, providing compatibility with a wide array of modern and vintage lenses, opening up a range of creative possibilities. With its native resolution of 6048x4032, the camera permits shallow depth-of-field shots and uncropped anamorphic lens use. The camera’s 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 ensure exceptional image quality, whether filming in bright sunlight or challenging low-light conditions. It supports a variety of frame rates, from HD to DCI 4K and even 6K, catering to diverse creative projects.
It’s equipped with a built-in CFexpress card recorder and a USB-C expansion port, allowing direct recording to external flash media disks or an SSD. The inclusion of CFexpress media ensures durability and speed for recording full-resolution 12-bit Blackmagic Raw files. The camera features a spacious five-inch HDR touchscreen for easy framing and accurate focusing, with on-screen overlays for the essential
parameters. It supports the application of 3D LUTs for colour grading, making it a versatile tool for monitoring shots under varying conditions. An optional viewfinder is available for outdoor or handheld shooting, featuring a high-quality 1280x960 colour OLED display with built-in proximity sensors and dioptre adjustments. This utilises high- capacity NP-F570 batteries and supports a battery grip for extended sessions.
