A lso unveiled at IBC was ARRI’s SkyPanel X, an all-weather LED luminaire and the latest addition to its SkyPanel family. This modular system offers native soft, native hard and open-face lighting options, setting new standards in dimming, colour rendition, output and beam quality. The SkyPanel X connects advanced LED technology with flexibility, catering to studios, rental houses and corporate clients. It offers superior low-end dimming, a dynamic CCT range from 1500 to 20,000K, and an RGBACL full-spectrum light engine featuring the best ARRI lighting colour science to date. Engineered for maximum endurance and reliability equally, it’s built to withstand all weather conditions with an IP66 rating, reducing maintenance procedures. SkyPanel X also provides wireless control, advanced networking and integrated power supply. Its modular design allows various formats and front attachments, ensuring this is a versatile lighting solution. With vast capabilities in control and connectivity, including Bluetooth and a digital twin for virtual lighting simulations, SkyPanel X promises efficiency, consistency and creativity.
CANON RF MOUNT CINEMA PRIME LENSES
C anon has introduced its first RF mount Cinema Prime lenses for the Cinema EOS System, catering to professional video production. The initial seven Canon CN-R lenses offer focal lengths and T stops of 14mm T3.1, 20mm T1.5, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.3, 85mm T1.3 and 135mm T2.2, and are compatible with the two existing RF mount Canon cine cameras, the EOS C70 and EOS R5 C. Allowing for RF mount protocol transmission, operators can control magnification, chromatic aberration correction, peripheral light correction and a dual-pixel focus guide via camera body operations, plus the new optics feature lens distortion correction. High optical performance is achieved for 4K and 8K cameras through strategic placement of aspherical and dispersion glass elements. They offer compatibility with full-frame sensors, bright T stop values, and an 11-blade iris for shallow depth-of-field and soft image rendering. Uniform Cinema EOS colour balance ensures consistent hues. The lenses are designed with ideal ring torque for precise adjustments during cinema productions and feature a unified design for easy swapping without adjusting accessories.
