Movie studios and streamers are turning to shorts to turbocharge the promotion of their new releases. ‘Hogwarts dropout’ and social media sensation Brandon B shares why the likes of Netflix and Disney are knocking on his door for viral video content
B randon B is a VFX sensation, not only for his on-screen or behind-the-camera aptitude, but his ground-breaking approach to marketing some of Tinseltown’s biggest releases. With the playful moniker ’Hogwarts dropout,’ he has ventured into roles like production running, camera assisting and most recently, DOP. Grabbing with both hands the pandemic’s capacity to transform film promotion, the promise held by VFX- enhanced short videos soon became evident. He dove into content creation, producing and directing for the duo Woody and Kleiny (@woodyandkleiny), who have over 14 million YouTube subscribers.
