SUSSEX STREET HIDDEN GEM

Although far from a teeming retail hotspot, this quiet, neo-Georgian-style side street is still worth a wander. Here you will find shops including Millers Music, Trotter & Deane and Bravissimo, but we recommend paying a visit to Cambridge Leather Bags – even if just for the smell! Stocking a wide range of handmade leather goods, including wallets, belts and briefcases, you’re guaranteed to find a gift that’s been made to last.

THE GOLDEN MILE

Renowned as Cambridge’s most vibrant street, the mile-long stretch of Mill Road presents a mix of independent boutiques, charity shops, cafes and bars. Search for vinyl in Relevant Record Cafe, scour quirky antiques in The Old Chemist Shop, and find the perfect present for any green-fingered friends in Small and Green. This local gem offers plants, terrariums and pots – some are hand thrown by local potter, Amber B Pottery. Also available are gift vouchers for various experiences, including a terrarium-making workshop. Mill Road
