CANON EOS C200 Canon’s C200 can record in Raw Light for the ultimate in quality. Its Super 35 sensor is shared with the far pricier C300 Mark II Canons, but in a much smaller and lighter body. So it has a similar ISO and dynamic range, plus all the regular pro features like dual XLR inputs and built-in ND filters.
Based on the original Ursa Mini, which was praised for its performance but rubbished for its too-minimalist design, the Ursa Mini Pro has more external control buttons and knobs rather than the large touchscreen. CANON EOS C300 MARK II The C300 Mark II has been a popular production camera for years, with its 4K DCI, 2K and Full HD internal and external recording to CFast 2.0 media, as well as 4K Raw output. With the new Mark III version on sale right now, the older model is a fantastic buy and still perfectly capable.
SONY FS5 Take the sensor of the FS7 and put it into a smaller body at a much lower price. That made the FS5 a big seller, despite its lower-quality internal codec. But with a firmware upgrade, it can output Raw to an external monitor/recorder. So it gives the same quality as the FS7 in a smaller and cheaper package.
PANASONIC LUMIX S1 The full-frame S1 series has been on sale for a while, so is in supply on the used market at great prices. For filmmakers, the S1H rules. But look at Panasonic’s full-frame S1, too; it’s a great all-rounder and cheaper. Sadly there’s no phase detection AF, but it has top codec choices.
