So this category is for films where the soundtrack, sound design or sound recording is well-executed and adds plenty to the finished film. You could be a dedicated sound recordist or just have some incredible audio on a film you were in charge of. It may include stock music or sound effects, audio recorded on- set, sound that has been worked on in post – whatever. Just knock the judges’ socks off with audio that brings the visuals to life and you could be a winner. Shooting action is a unique challenge with fast-moving subjects. So making a visually stunning short about an all-out race on the streets of Lisbon only added to the logistical problems that needed solving before a shot could be made. Lawrence Ribeiro’s film Part Deux: The Chase is a rare nighttime chase film. “I believe in the power of action filmmaking. I made this night car chase to show off the best of action realism – as it’s available to everyone, from the most indie filmmakers to the biggest studio films like Top Gun . I did it with a really small team. We didn’t have much of a budget, so I had to get very creative,” explains Ribeiro. “The entire car chase is lit by street lamps. “We used a prosumer camera, so we had to work hard to manipulate
