Life in plastic Founded in 2018, Plastic Fruit Studios creates visual content for a variety of purposes – most notably music videos
S tarted by musicians Jess Clover and Vlad Woodham-Smith – also known as Temptress – Plastic Fruit Studios is a London-based company which specialises in stills, music videos and other moving images. Coming from the entertainment industry themselves, both Clover and Woodham-Smith work with artists on branding, editorials and advertising campaigns – and work closely with CVP to do it.
Passion project Born out of a passion for content creation, Plastic Fruit has produced commercials, music videos and press shoots for musicians like Baby Queen and Piri & Tommy. The studio had its humble beginnings a few years ago, after Temptress went from undiscovered to viral. “We were picked up by a large management company, so we had the budget to make some proper music videos,” explains Woodham-Smith.
“We both loved the process of creating visuals, so when we went independent a few years later, we were determined to learn the craft ourselves.” The duo observed productions, took courses and practised cinematography before making their first music video. “That then led to other friends, artists and later record labels asking us to make videos for them,” recounts Woodham- Smith. This success snowballed and became Plastic Fruit Studios.
