STREET SMARTS

As part of its ‘streets’ connectivity mapping project, Stellar collected data on the Tour de France 2023, assessing the internet quality across the route. Rather than relying on reports from various providers, Stellar assesses quality on the roads themselves, using a fleet of vehicles to map 4G and 5G networks and Wi-Fi hotspots. Stellar’s metrics revealed an average quality of service that was deemed ‘poor’ or ‘lacking’ across 62.3% of the Tour de France 2023 route.

SWISS SUMMER

French broadcaster TF1 is set to cover the Uefa Women’s Euro 2025, hosted by Switzerland in the summer of that year. The agreement grants TF1 exclusive linear and streaming rights for all 31 matches in the tournament. The company recently covered the 2022 semi-final between France and Germany, seeing over six million viewers in a single match and hoping to carry this momentum forward.

FAST AND FURIOUS

The German Football Association (DFB) is launching a FAST channel, housing both live and on-demand content from the organisation’s various leagues. The channel – DFB Play TV – is positioned alongside DFB Play, the association’s existing OTT offering. The DFB also streams video through YouTube and other social channels, so fans can watch football on their preferred platform.
