INFUSE VIDEO CEO: Ruud van der Linden

What is the company’s origin story? Founder Ruud van der Linden began his journey with online video back in high school in 1999, ripping Star Trek VHS tapes to publish video clips on his fan site. This pastime eventually evolved into video-streaming freelance gigs, ultimately leading to the creation of StreamOne, a pioneering online video platform later acquired by 24i. StreamOne noticed its clients wanted to create multiple versions of videos to connect with different audience segments, improve engagement and create more inclusive content. But the process was clunky, involving a lot of duplicated content. So the company conducted over 100 interviews, finding time and money were being expended on building one-off solutions, reinventing the wheel each time. Creators either designed video components or amalgamated content from multiple third-parties. What is it working on right now? Fresh off a funding round involving angel investors from Netflix, Meta and Fortinet, Infuse Video is onboarding its first customers. Its content production workflows are now tailored to direct content and metadata straight to the Infuse Video platform. Instead of producing a singular version, customers leverage Infuse Video to create and adapt the EDL for each viewer in real time. The primary focus is in the healthcare sector, where personalised video has the potential to enhance medication adherence and free up critical staff time, enabling them to better serve patients. Currently, Infuse Video is integrating real-time rendering with cutting-edge stitching and splicing technologies to create a highly scalable system capable of deep content personalisation. What is the next step? Beyond that, the next significant move is to develop a less technical iteration of its product. This simplification will allow a more diverse customer base to tap into the advantages of dynamic and personalised video – paving the way to penetrate new industry verticals, letting customers create and change video with the versatility of text. In parallel, Infuse Video is integrating generative AI elements into workflows, enabling customers to leverage AI while maintaining predictability and safety through rule-based guardrails. What one thing does the company need most? The mission is ambitious, aiming to revolutionise the way video content is produced and distributed. To execute this transformation, Infuse requires exceptional individuals across various disciplines: back-end and front-end engineers, designers, marketing specialists and sales professionals.
