FEED: What are your favourite memories of the Women’s World Cup?
“THOSE CURRENTLYWORKING INTHE INDUSTRY NEEDTO SEEK OUT AND SUPPORTTHE NEXT GENERATION”
ERIN LASTÉ: The best part was witnessing the changing attitudes towards the women’s game. I managed to grab tickets for one of the Matildas games and it was special for me to see how much support women’s sport was receiving. I loved seeing young girls in awe of their newest role models, and particularly enjoyed watching groups of excitable young men celebrating screamers by jumping into each other’s arms. SARAH BUTLER: There are just so many highlights. From working with great colleagues to working in some unforgettable atmospheres, and seeing packed- out stadiums cheering on women’s football, where tickets had become like gold dust. The Australia versus England semi-final was particularly special for me. CAROLINE RAMSAY: Walking into our AHS Network Operations Centre and seeing skilled female broadcast engineers leading the way. Demonstrating to the world that Australia and New Zealand are excellent major event hosts.
MARY KAY DONOVAN: Once the US team was sadly eliminated, it was amazing to support Australia and New Zealand. The spotlight on them was just wonderful. HELEN CAMPBELL: The entire tournament was a highlight of my career. It’s impossible to pick a favourite memory as the five weeks were filled with so many brilliant moments and we had so much fun, even though working extremely hard. The highlights, directing the programmes that saw England win the semi-final and qualify for the final, and then to direct the presentation coverage of the final itself. Both unforgettable moments.
