TENBA DNA 16 DSLR BACKPACK £190/$230 uk.tenba.com

When you are looking to travel light and not bring too much attention to yourself, a product like the £190/$230 Tenba DNA 16 DSLR backpack is an ideal purchase. It looks pretty compact, but has 16-litre capacity, meaning it can take a full-frame mirrorless camera and lots of lenses, as well as a 16in laptop. A slot on the rear lets you stack it on top of a roller bag for easy transport when you don’t want to carry it. And wearing it is actually pretty comfortable, thanks to fully adjustable shoulder straps with a sternum strap, to keep it stable when walking. A waist belt can support the weight of the bag when it is loaded. This can be removed when the bag isn’t too heavy, and to stop the strap from dangling down. An airflow harness is made from ventilating 3D airmesh and Tenba’s Pivot-Fit auto-adjusting straps, to ensure a good fit. No complaints there, and as the bag weighs 1.36kg/3lb empty, it’s ideal for all-day use. The Tenba DNA 16 comes in navy blue or the stealthier black we tested. And it will let you carry a DSLR or mirrorless camera with attached lens up to a 70-200mm f/2.8, plus four or five more lenses, a laptop and accessories. The main photo gear storage is a padded insert at the bottom – easy to get to via a dedicated zip. It is also removable, so you can

A stretchy mesh side pocket on the outside offers easy-access storage for a small water bottle or mic, while the zipped front pocket provides more secure storage for small items. An expandable roll-top – the latest fad in backpacks – is in place. It is sealed using hook-and-loop material, then can be rolled tightly and clipped using a magnetic slide catch, to keep the bag safe and stop any rain getting in. Or keep it unrolled, giving plenty of room to stuff lots of extra bits inside. Speaking of rain, both the interior and exterior are made from weather- resistant fabric, and the bag comes with a separate extreme weather cover, too. This is reversible, as it’s silver on one side in order to reflect the sun on especially hot days, and black on the other, to blend in when it’s rainy. Of course, you’re not going to stuff in a cinema camera and huge zoom lens, but for small kits where you need

to keep everything to a minimum, it’s a stylish and light bag that’s useful and not too expensive. PRO MOVIEMAKER RATING: 8/10 Ideal for filmmakers on the move with a mirrorless Pros: A light, but relatively large backpack Cons: You’re not going to fit all of your kit in
