CAMBRIDGE STOVE INSTALLATIONS Your local specialist in all things fires and flues, Edition stops by for a brew with CSI founder Jamie Osbourne-Briggs A Cup of Tea With...

Cambridge Edition: Hello Jamie! First things first, what is your brew of choice? Jamie Osbourne-Briggs: Yorkshire Tea, please! I’m originally from Sheffield so I have an affinity to good old Yorkshire. I’m slightly biased when it comes to their tea bags. CE: How long has CSI been going and why did you decide to set up your own business? JO: We’re coming up to ten years in May. Originally, CSI began as a one-man band, but we have quickly grown year on year to become a team of seven including our directors. I initially decided to go it alone, opening the business after learning my trade at one of Cambridgeshire’s largest fireplace companies and travelling the UK with other installation teams. CE: Could you tell us a bit about the company and your areas of expertise? JO: We are a small but highly productive fireplace team specialising in wood-burning

stoves, though we do all things fireplaces and flues! We are based in Cottenham, Cambridgeshire, where our showroom has six rooms filled with a variety of different fireplace products, wood-burning stoves, gas fires, fireplace surrounds, ceramic and wooden beams, and lots of stone hearths. Our core expertise is installing new fireplaces and flues, transforming them from start to finish. After installation, all our customers need to do is apply a lick of paint to the walls. What people may not know about the business is that we offer a heroes discount to NHS staff, police, fire service, ex and current armed forces; just a small way of giving back. We also plant and maintain trees with every fireplace or stove installed. CE: Where do you cover? JO: We operate across the whole of Cambridgeshire, even venturing further afield to Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We have done wonderful jobs for our customers across the south and have had referrals

for London, St Albans, Surrey and more! However, where possible, we try to stick within a 30-mile radius of Cambridge. CE: How can someone get in touch if they want CSI to take a look at their fireplace, stove or chimney? JO: Give us a call or send an email with your name, address and most convenient times/dates for a free home survey. After that, we can run through all your options, answer any questions you may have and advise accordingly. We will then go away and get back in touch once we have a fully broken-down quotation for work. CE: Finally, what’s the best bit about your work at CSI? JO: For me, it’s all about meeting new customers on a daily basis and either transforming their living spaces with wonderful focal points, or looking after their fireplaces year on year. It’s good to know that we are keeping on top of it and ensuring they are still safe to use.
