The workflow has been designed with creators in mind. Shows can be pre-built as scenes – combinations of video sources, graphics and audio routing – mapped to the console’s seven scene buttons. This allows operators to switch a show live with confidence, or even hand the reins to the intelligent auto-switching system, which uses audio cues to cut between speakers. For solo creators without a technical director, it’s a game changer. Free firmware updates have elevated the RØDECaster Video into an entirely new league. Full NDI support opens the door to network-based production workflows that were once the preserve of big-budget broadcast. Up to four NDI inputs and one output can be handled directly, so PTZ cameras, smartphones and other NDI devices can be seamlessly integrated. That update also added PTZ camera control, letting users frame, zoom and recall presets directly from the console. Now, the RØDECaster Video isn’t just for streamers but is a tool for multi camera events and even studio-level productions.
