CONTROL VSNExplorer is built to make life easier
orders and forecast workloads, receive notifications around content of interest, and generate analytics and reports based on the VSNExplorer Business Intelligence (BI) system. Extracting information on a company’s media assets, tasks, workflows and processes – including data from third-party systems – BI can create reports on anything, from transfer times and speeds, to number and ranking of downloads or changes to an asset. A complete record of past, pending and in-progress downloads can be searched and sorted by date, destination, status or title – users can access the related asset with a single click. To set up a workflow, users simply add the appropriate content destinations – or ‘exchange points’ – in the Media Exchange UI by giving them a name, and assigning users or groups with the necessary permissions. They
indicate the local path where files will be downloaded to – and select the desired transcoding formats. Any user with the proper permissions can then request an immediate or scheduled transcode of any asset, which will be automatically downloaded to the subscribed destinations.
