Mobile users who are aware of mobile internet, but do not use it, were asked whether certain barriers were preventing them from doing so, and which was the most important. This table lists the top reported barriers to mobile internet use, both at a country level and across individuals surveyed. internet but do not use it, reported that the top barrier preventing them from doing so was a lack of literacy and digital skills. Affordability, primarily of smartphones, is the second-most important barrier. This overall ranking of the top-two reported barriers has remained the same over the past few years.
