Next-generation Rotolight duo

B ritish LED lighting company Rotolight has revealed its next products, the Neo 3 and AEOS 2. These deliver continuous light in all colours, and are the first units in the world to also offer High-Speed Sync RGBWW flash. This enables flash in any one of 16.7 million colours or 2500 digital filters, with zero recycle time. The pocket-sized Neo 3 is claimed to be the brightest on-camera LED light ever. It will be available as an individual light or three-light kit, and comes with a new high-performance, rechargeable lithium battery. The larger AEOS 2 is said to be the thinnest and lightest 1x1 panel on the market, at under 1.4kg/3.09lb. Both lights can be controlled by a full- colour, two-inch touchscreen. And the new Rotolight app for iOS and Android lets you switch between modes to remotely adjust colour, power, SFX and more. You can also create custom groups and projects on up to 20 lights simultaneously. Rotolight has also revealed its Smartsoft Box: an intelligent softbox designed for the AEOS 2. You can electronically adjust the light’s diffusion, focus and spread without the need for gels, via the touchscreen display or app. A new Universal Speedring Adapter enables Bowens-mount modifiers to be used on both the NEO and AEOS range.

LEICA’S ELSIE LENSES HONOUR WWII HERO

Leica has revealed a set of 13 full- frame cine prime lenses that range from 15mm to 150mm focal lengths, designed to replicate the look of the classic M-Mount stills lenses. The Leitz Elsie T2.2 lenses come in an LPL mount and are around £19,000/$22,200 each. The lenses are named after a granddaughter of Leica founder Ernst Leitz, who risked her life during WWII helping Jewish Leica employees escape Germany. leitz-cine.com
