The winners of its open competition have now been announced, with a fantastic selection of works. Olivier Unia’s heart-stopping scene of a rider falling from his horse was the overall winner. They were presented with $5000 and Sony imaging gear at a gala event in London on 16 April. Other notable winners were Xuecheng Liu’s aerial perspective of New York’s Times Square, which won in the architecture category, and Ng Guang Ze’s long exposure of a haunting body of water, which won the open landscape category. Jonell Francisco won in the creative category for an elegant collage-style portrait influenced by Renaissance art, while Estebane Rezkallah’s poignant image of scavenging polar bears took the crown in the natural world and wildlife category. All of the successful images will be on display as part of a travelling competition which is currently undertaking an international tour.
