COUNTRY: USA STARTED: 2020 TMT INSIGHTS

What’s your origin story? I am Hannah, COO of TMT Insights. When Andy and I launched TMT Insights, our intention was to engage in professional service projects with a strategic focus, especially given we launched in the early days of Covid-19. We were pleasantly surprised by the rapid growth, and are grateful to have a client roster with some of the world’s most innovative media brands. We assist clients in M&E by implementing and optimising their production and distribution workflows. Our comprehensive professional services range from traditional consulting to software development. Our core expertise lies in designing and implementing end-to-end media supply chains that cater to all aspects of production, localisation and the various distribution models, including streaming, FAST channels and linear broadcast. In addition, we offer outsourced MediaOps, DevOps and vendor management to clients, taking care of their ongoing workflows as well as backend platform and tech stack infrastructure. To further enhance our services, we have developed Polaris, an operational management system that consolidates and presents information from different subsystems in a single, unifying experience. What is the company working on right now? We continue to accelerate the development of our Polaris solution to expand not only the needs desperately craved by large-scale enterprise customers, but provide an easier way for others to leverage some of the same benefits without needing large technology teams at their disposal. We’re focused on combining licensable solutions with a team that has deep domain experience in building and operating large-scale supply chains. What is the next step? Growth continues to be high on our priority list, continuing expansion into the UK and across Europe. We have begun to expand into linear content applications and FAST channel support. Many of our engagements focus on broadcast, VOD and OTT workflows for movies and TV, but there are many groups that manage live content distribution for sports or news. The next phase is taking the foundation we’ve built in pre-recorded media and on- demand content and moving to the world of live production and distribution. What one thing does the business need most? One of our challenges is strategic resourcing, as much of our work requires highly skilled engineering with experience in M&E. Finding this is difficult – not just for us, but the entire industry – so we often have to go outside M&E to find candidates who are open to learning new skills and acquiring the deep knowledge required to support the detailed media workflow.
