INTER IORS

TABLE TALK Apart from the tree, the focal point of the holiday is the Christmas table. It’s here you gather with family, eat, drink and be merry – so it’s important that it looks the part, while also being functional. Kate suggests keeping your table dressed throughout the festive season, introducing a string of lights and foliage paired with candles of different shapes and sizes. Be sure to add cosy throws and pillows to the seating so you can relax after your feast, and don’t forget some fun decorations for the kids. As an interior stylist, Celine knows a thing or two about dressing a magazine- worthy Christmas table. Her advice is: “Less is more! Be detail-oriented, define your style, create balance and harmony. Look at the room, the colours and the theme you chose – then consider what you want to achieve. Select pieces such as classic china tableware that you can layer to fit the theme, and build up the table setting from there. A fine tablecloth, large napkins with napkin rings or velvet ribbon, a chic centrepiece composed of fresh flowers, natural elements like holly, pine cones, white hellebore and candles bring quality and sophistication to your table.”
