KEEPING IT SAVVY Infused with the grit and charm of shoestring traditions, the film was conceived as a collaborative venture between Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios, filmed on-location with a modestly sized budget and crew. Constraints were unavoidable, but Frake-Waterfield and Knight elected to embrace these snags with a truly inspired approach, retaining an unyielding belief in their shared visions. “Limitations and restrictions can give birth to ingenuity, and produce really creative solutions,” Knight says. “Sometimes the best-looking scenes are illuminated by one light. When you’re forced into those types of scenarios, you have to get inventive.” “You don’t need extravagance to create something effective – sometimes simplistic set-ups are just as good,” Frake-Waterfield corroborates. With the exception of a few sequences, the bulk of the film was shot on Red’s 8K Helium system, with a selection of Zeiss Super Speed lenses.
