continue into 2027. Spatial soundscapes have played a key role. Frameless, one of the UK’s largest digital art venues, uses Panasonic projection technology alongside EM Acoustics and L-Acoustics audio systems to create immersive visitor experiences. Museums and theme parks have adopted similar techniques. At Paultons Park, the Ghostly Manor ride combines projection mapping, animatronics and interactive gameplay. CONCERTS AND TOURING Driven by the demand for interactive and seamless fan experiences, the live entertainment industry is set to shift even further as we head into the new year. Digital mixing consoles, wireless audio systems, LED lighting and automated rigging have revolutionised what is possible on stage. With audience expectation at an all-time high, these technologies are opening up a realm of new possibilities. For example, Linkin Park’s From Zero World Tour showcased how a combination of blended performance, playback, broadcast, visual production and recording can create a seamless, immersive show. The ISE show will offer a glimpse of how these developments are taking shape and what they could mean for the year ahead. Under the theme ‘When Worlds Unite’, the focus will be on how AI, robotics and connected AV systems could change the way people work, learn and experience live events.

humans and artificial intelligence can work together to create a better future. He will bring the show’s theme to life through invaluable expertise around how AI could be used to help different technology worlds continue to unite, without losing the human connection. The 2026 edition established that robotics are transforming the AV industry, with broadcasts providing the clearest example. ‘When Worlds Unite’ is the theme for 2027, and there is plenty in store for the next edition – LIVE is here to unpack it all for you. Another major theme is the convergence of AI, robotics and AV. While AI has dominated AV trends and topics over the past few years, another big industry trend we are starting to see is the growing adoption of IP networks, cloud platforms and software-defined systems bringing AV and IT closer together. CORPORATE AND EDUCATION In the corporate sector we expect to see smarter and more connected workplaces meeting spaces. From AI-powered cameras to intelligent room systems to Direct View LED, AV is shifting the future landscape of workplace environments. The AV also continues to develop rapidly within education, and 2027 is shaping the way for the increasing number of hybrid teaching environments. Augmented spaces are slowly

beginning to replace traditional lecture halls and classrooms; augmented teaching environments blend physical classrooms with digital layer technologies, such as AR and AI, to make concepts more interactive. The University of Greenwich, for example, has recently introduced TeamConnect Ceiling and AVer AI Auto Tracking Cameras. Whether others will follow suit remains to be seen. THEATRE AND STAGE Within the theatre, AV is increasingly being used as a tool for not just impressive visuals but as part of the story itself. Let’s face it, attention spans aren’t what they used to be and retaining audience attention is integral to shows. Large-scale LED environments, spatial audio, interactive projection and real-time rendering are all key for bringing shows to life. With advancements in AI, these tools are set to reach new heights in 2027 by enabling more responsive environments and giving creative teams additional means to bring stories to life. We’ve already seen these trends start to take shape with productions such as Beetlejuice: The Musical . The show relied on scenic design, lighting, projection, automation and video technology to give the story an extra edge. ATTRACTIONS AND EXPERIENCES Attractions are becoming increasingly immersive, and this trend looks set to
