FAST FUTURE
Adapting to the FAST channel chapter of the media tech story has been no simple feat. Our panel of experts share their insights on how to succeed
Mauro Panella FAST Channels Network Co-founder & COO
Can you name the key impacts of FAST’s recent growth in media and entertainment? The growth of FAST is reshaping M&E, with new prospects for content creators and advertisers. It challenges traditional business models and is a matching tool for subscription-based offerings. Key impacts include changing viewers habits, more competition, create new monetisation opportunities, allow global reach, increase value of IPs, Provide data driven insights. Which FAST tools or channels are you most excited about? Most interesting in my opinion are those services operated that are being operated by CTV makers. Though I also find that ROKU has a unique approach in creating new monetisation opportunities. There can find free on-demand content and 400 live channels alone.
What are key benefits to implementing FAST into your business strategy? Benefits are aligned with key impacts, notably cost efficiency, brand exposure, global reach and new revenue streams. Why should M&E pay more attention to FAST? M&E industries are well aware of the potentiality of the FastDistribution model. Global giants are doing the correct thing in testing the waters whilst the market becomes more profitable, without disrupting their current model. Medium and small players are instead losing a chance to position themselves by ignoring or underestimating FAST distribution. What does the future hold for FAST? I see FAST becoming the go-to tool for emerging super aggregators, providing richness and diversity in bundling offering, opening new advertising revenues.
